Carol, a Charlottesville native, is now in practice at 618 Forest Street, Suite #2, Charlottesville, 22903.  She has over forty years experience as a licensed psychotherapist beginning with a successful private practice in Charlottesville before moving to Montana.  There she continued seeing private clients for counseling while ordained as an Episcopal Priest, now retired from full-time ministry.  Carol has also served as a clinical coordinator for three community agencies that provided a wide variety of experience in the mental health and substance abuse realms.

Carol has a background training and practice seeing cancer survivors for psy-oncology, has served as the educator and counselor for eight summers at a family cancer camp, and for the American Cancer Society.  She also saw the caregivers for supportive therapy, and has counseled those with other medical issues.  She was certified as a sex therapist treating couples for sexual dysfunctions or issues stemming from a medical or physical illness. 

She was advanced trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy in 1995, facilitating groups and providing individual therapy with those diagnosed with a personality disorder or emotional dysregulation.  She has training in Mindful living.

Carol was also advanced trained in crisis de-escalation, has received a certificate in Mediation, offering conflict resolution and trauma informed care.  She, if requested, can offer spiritual direction, pastoral care, and pre-marital counseling previous to officiating a marriage.  She provided relationship counseling for all partnered genders.

She is versed in a variety of interventions, and as a former Hospice Chaplain, offers the opportunity for healing from the impact of major life changes or losses.  She counsels with care and compassion in providing the opportunity for clients to gain motivation for sustaining a fulfilling, mindful, and meaningful life.
